When we create a video for you, you can post it anywhere online, including YouTube, social media platforms, your website, Amazon product pages, CTV/OTT platforms, paid ads, etc. However, usage on mass media such as broadcast TV, film, or radio requires an extended license or a buyout. Unlike animated videos or videos using real people (not actors), our videos feature professional actors, so their likeness is protected. You can’t put a fixed price on someone’s likeness being shown across mass media. That’s where royalties come in. Just like with TV commercials, films, or TV shows, if the actor’s image is broadcast to the public on a mass medium, they are entitled to royalties for that usage. This is standard industry practice. If you want to use the video on any mass medium, you would need to either obtain an extended-usage license from us, purchase a full buyout of the video (which compensates the actors for all rights), or negotiate royalties directly through the talent’s representation.
